Earlier today, showing a decline in iPhone revenue (that still beat what Wall Street was expecting), and strong growth in Wearables, iPad sales and in the Services unit. In South Korea, Samsung has just released its third quarter results. , the company reported a 56% year-over-year decline in operating profit although the figure was up 18% from this year's second quarter. The figure also topped Samsung's expectations.

When building services that rely on relational databases, in my case postgres, what are some best practices and tools to help manage schema changes? We've been using migrations and doing it all manually but it's become a bottleneck and a little bit of a nightmare with multiple consumers of the database needing to make schema changes. Another concern is multiple environments, from local development to staging and production. We're using docker-compose for local development which runs the entire "full" schema and then I'm manually applying the migration files to staging and production before we deploy. I've looked at some projects like flywaydb[1] and liquibase[2] but both are not completely free and seem proprietary. Does anyone know of another open source system that could help manage database schema versioning and migrations? Samsung seems to be undecided about whether or not it's worth entering the smart speaker market, and the main reason is probably , its proprietary digital assistant that's arguably inferior to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

New features are coming to Amazon's personal assistant, Alexa. The US giant announced two major features are making their way to Alexa this week – Sleep Lighting Time and Wake-up Lights, which are supposed to further enhance the sleeping experience. Along with the new features, Amazon is adding a few Routines to Alexa.

One of the things that smartphone and tablet owners wish for when blowing out the birthday candles on their cake, or when wishing on a star or snapping the wishbone from a chicken is an edit option for Twitter. If you are a Twitter member, you know exactly what we mean. Now, an edit feature has appeared for virtual helper Google Assistant on certain devices.
