MediaTek seeks U.S. permission to supply cutting-edge 5G chips to Huawei

In May of last year, the U.S. Commerce Department put Huawei on the Entity List over fears that the company's close ties with the Communist Chinese government would result in information about U.S. consumers and corporations getting sent to servers in Beijing. Thanks to its placement on the Entity List, Huawei found itself banned from the U.S. supply chain that it spent $18 billion on two years before. This forced to scramble to find replacement suppliers for certain components and the company replaced the Google ecosystem with its own Huawei Mobile Services.

If you have uBlock or similar, it appears medium logs all analytics pings into HTML5 LocalStorage and will keep retrying to send them (and apparently periodically change domains and subdomains to try and send them). I had tens of thousands of entries in localStorage, wasting quite a bit of space, all of them at least 400-600 characters or more. By offering its own in-app payment system (IAP), Epic was eliminating the so-called 30% Apple Tax that developers pay for the privilege of using Apple's IAP. Epic's lawyers were hoping to persuade the judge that Apple's anti-competitive actions were behind the whole affair, but the judge didn't bother to consider that possibility. ...

Facebook trolls Apple after its iOS app gets a ban over App Store fees

After regarding their efforts to circumvent its App Store payment policy , it is now catching none other than Facebook in the act. No not the act of trying to wiggle out of paying a cut to Apple for purchases made through its iOS app, but rather warning buyers about Apple's cut.

That's right, with its newest app update, Facebook incorporated a feature that lets users buy tickets for events online, but made the mistake to put a warning saying that 30% of the proceeds will go to , as the purchase is done on the iOS app.

Facebook says that it asked Apple ...
